With sunny skies and warmer temperatures on the horizon do you feel more tempted to skip your workout in favor of spending time outside? You aren’t alone! We know the struggle of weighing your workout inside vs. time outside with friends and family. After a long Michigan winter there are few things better than getting out of the house.
That being said, we want to encourage you to keep your FLEX routine at the top of your to-do list. Although a sunny evening walk or Friday happy hour on the patio might sound good, it isn’t a replacement for an intense, calorie-torching workout at FLEX. In fact, many people actually gain weight during the warmer months. We want to work hard inside so you can enjoy your time outside even more. You’ve worked hard all winter and spring, don’t lose the momentum you’ve built!
Ways to Avoid Warm Weather Weight Gain:
-Come to class in the morning. Whether it’s at 6:00am or 9:30, getting to the studio before the peak hours of warmth + weather is a surefire way to get your sweat on and be able to enjoy the longer daylight hours at night. We have 6:00am classes every day of the work week at all three locations.
-Join a challenge. It’s so much easier to stay committed when you are working towards something. For example, the April 20:30 challenge! You’ve made a commitment to getting to the studio 20 times in the month of April, all you have to do is show up.
-Add to your workout routine, not subtract. Get your workout at FLEX done and then add the extras: walking, hiking, biking, swimming, any of your favorite warm weather activities. Make the spring and summer months even more active by tacking on bonus activity to your time at FLEX.
