How to Beat the Post-Vacation Slump

We’ve all been there. After a vacation spent relaxing and forgetting about the routine of everyday life, it can be hard to get back on track once vacation comes to an end. But no matter how hard it may be to get on schedule, we know you’ll be happy once you do. Pushing off getting back into the studio is tempting but it’s not worth it. The longer you wait the harder it will be. Pull the band-aid off and get back on track. Read below for our favorite ways to get beat the post vacation lazies:

-Maintain some sense of normalcy on vacation. If you’re a morning person in real life, take advantage of that on vacation and use the early morning as a time to get in a long walk or your workout of choice. Moving your body early in morning will set the tone for the rest of the day.

-Pump yourself up! Positive self talk is key to doing anything really, but especially health and fitness. Remind yourself how good you feel when you are taking the time to push yourself in the studio and eat healthfully outside of the studio.

-Sign up. A day or two before vacation ends sign up for class for the week to come. There’s something about scheduling your workouts that makes it harder to bail when temptation calls.

-Know it might be hard. The first workout back is always tough, but that’s ok! It means your pushing yourself outside your comfort zone, and that’s where progress is made. Not to worry, after a few days back you’ll be feeling like your normal self.
